Plotline
Begins: Dragon Emperor fiances Silchas Ruin's quest to create the Cursed Sword
Ends: Sword is destroyed and Silchas's soul is transfered to his son's body
Purpose: Site-Wide RP stimulation
Involves: Leaders of kingdoms, any player interested, admins (several demi-gods)
Details: Silchas Ruin wishes to create a sword that will make its wielder immortal, and will give the wielder the power to create an army of Lichs out of his fallen foes by stealing their souls, but he cannot. Silchas proposes making the sword "for the Emperor", and the Emperor funds Silchas's quest to seek out the greatest weaponsmiths and mages in all the kingdoms. Silchas gains the knowledge to make the blade, and does so, only to keep it for himself, and begin a campaign of terror against all the kingdoms. Seeing the need to stop him, seers and historians seek a way to defeat the immortal Silchas, and come across references to "Icarium Lifestealer", and ascendant being of great power. Heroes and adventurers set out to find and awaken Icarium, while the kingdoms temporarily unite to hold back the growing army of lichs, even employing as many demi-gods as can be found and convinced. Eventually, Icarium is awoken, and he sets out to stop Silchas. The two leave a great path of waste behind them in their battle, which culminates with the death blow being struck to Icarium. However, Icarium's soul rips apart the Cursed Sword from the inside, destroying it forever, and throwing parts across the kingdoms. Silchas is killed by the destruction of the sword, but survives by transferring his soul into his son's body. Realizing the folly of his actions, once his mind had cleared of the sword's corrupting influence, Silchas vows to never create such evil again, and to use his acquired skill to seek out and destroy powerfully charmed weapons. The fragments that had been thrown from the sword appear every now and again, small pieces of steel that, when worked into a new blade, produce a sword of exceptional quality, no matter how skilled the smith, but have no supernatural power. A few months after Silchas's "death", the Kingdoms old rivalries peak, and the temporary alliance is torn apart by the prejudice of the beings involved.
