(Vahl-pahn-bahr-ee-on) The upstairs are for lodging, while the first floor is a bar. Serving all kinds of drinks, and meals. There is a fireplace, and several booths along the far wall, while tables and chairs litter the rest of the floor.

Lady Eripher slithered through the open door, her long cloak slithering behind her.The hood remained up, pulled far beyond her eyes. A small group of bodyguards, inconspicuosly dressed as farmers, shuffled her over to the farther-most table with all chair backs to the wall. She sat in the corner, mimicked by her guard, and removed her hood.
"My lady...you must keep your face hidden, it was one of the conditions of this escapade," the closest guard leaned in and whispered into her ear.
Eripher giggled, reminded of her tutor's chiding, "Too late now I believe, I'm causing quite a stir. Besides, if this trip is not to your liking, you may leave. You always were my favorite Deridem." She tousled his sandy hair into an unruly fuzzball in a display of affection that sent whispers through the drinking mass.

*I walked through the tavern doors, nodding my head to him and taking a seat in a booth near the fireplace, so close infact that the fireplace left a shadowed spot on either side, where there were booths. Taking the one on the right, I waited for the bartender to send a drink my way.*

Eripher cocked her head to the side, observing the crowd. From the dredges of society, she was always fascinated. Being of high status never diminished her curiosity. She locked eyes with the bartender and directed his gaze to a few lonely figures. A piece of parchment appeared from the folds of Deridem's uniform. She signed, "Courtesy of the Queen. Lady Eripher," in scrawling cursive script. The note found its way to the bartender along with a gentle smile.

*A waitress bustled over. She set the glass down on the table, I nodded my head, raising my glass to the bartender. Halfway through my drink I raised my eyes and scanned the tavern, I caught sight of the Empress, I nodded my head to her. I looked at the bartender once more, he was filling another drink from one of the other locals, I believe he was a smith. When he finally noticed me looking at him, I raised an eyebrow; he shook his head. I sighed, yep now I was bored.*

*I finished my drink and dropped some coins on the table. I pulled the cowl of my cloak up and walked out of the tavern, heading for the comforting, and hopefully empty forest.*
